Dorothy Word, a Black Mennonite woman, published newspaper articles regularly between 1995 and 2009. The articles cover a variety of topics, including commentaries on current events, annual holidays (especially Mother's Day, Father's Day, and Kwanzaa), activities of local organizations, and important people and events in Black history. They provide a valuable window into Word's worldview and the issues she cared about, her interest in history, and her experiences of racism. Word's papers are held by Mennonite Church USA Archives, Elkhart, IN, USA.
